After years of constant experimentation, we have identified in the "Asinone" vineyard, the best quality potential of our grapes. The Noble "Asinone" represents the highest expression of our production and the most accomplished synthesis between tradition, territory and wine innovation. Made from Sangiovese grapes, it expresses a recognizable style and a defined character, but capable of confronting the trends of international taste.

First year of production:
1983 (born as a reserve)

N. bottles produced on average: Asinone is produced only in the best vintages and the number of bottles produced reflects the quality of the vintage itself.
On average, the production is around 20,000-40,000 bottles.

In the years in which it is not bottled, Asinone is "downgraded" to Nobile di Montepulciano base.

Variety: in the best years Asinone is produced with 100% Sangiovese. In the others we add about 10% of Colorino and Merlot, produced in the new part of the vineyard.

Vineyard area: 14 ha. (9 ha. Planted in 1963, 5 ha. In 1990)

Altitude: 350 m.s.l.m.

Exposure: South / South-West

Soil type: clayey-silty in nature with the presence of a skeleton

Planting density: 3,000 plants per hectare in the old part and 5,000 in the new one

Harvest method: manual in boxes

Vinification: the fermentation takes place in "truncated cone" stainless steel vats at controlled temperature with punching down integrated by pumping over. Fermentation and maceration last for 20-25 days.

Aging: 16-18 months in new French oak barrels.

Aging potential: 15 years
