Le Corti - Tenuta Marsiliana
Fico IGT Toscana
"Making wine" it is an absolute vocation for those who have always breathed it.Wanting to transform, innovating, one's own production philosophy with a new and even more personal vision is much more: it is a gift.
That's cool it's so much more than just wine, is the portrait of its noble author Filippo Corsini, the eldest son of Duccio and Clotilde Corsini, who died on 31 October 2016 at the age of 21 in London, where he was studying. Fico is a gift to the future.
The idea of producing a wine in respectful harmony with the environmenthas matured through the different work experiences that Filippo Corsini has experienced during over a year spent traveling the world, first to Buenos Aires, ArgentinaIn Branca Brothers Distillery, then in Patagonia, in the cellar Bodega Chacra of his cousin Piero Incisa della Rocchetta.
Finally, in New York In Restaurant Enoteca Santa by Mario Batali. An idea first shared and then enthusiastically spurred by his father Duccio, at the helm of the company Prince Corsini since 1992.
Returned to Villa Le Corti, Family home and historic home of the cellars, with this new awareness Filippo has developed with his father a defined project. The goal: create a wine symbol of a new production direction, capable of pandering to the rhythms and biological cycles of the vine and nature, which in itself already has everything necessary to create a great wine.
For the young Philip Corsini, the project was not only a modern translation of the example received by his family, but also an authentic philosophy of life.
2015 marks the first grape harvest of Fico, 100% sangiovese, named after the border tree of the Spigliaie Vineyard, among the most popular of the property. From eight rows of this parcel, with a biodynamic approach, Filippo puts into practice and then in the bottle a wine interpreter of his personal vision of winemaking.
Well 280 numbered bottles and organic certificates, which mark the future of the corporate philosophy Prince Corsini, his partner in the project.
