Trentino Alto Adige
Trentino-Alto Adige is an entirely mountainous region of about 14,000 sq km. It is composed of the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano that mark a differentiation both linguistic and administrative so we speak of Trentino on one side and South Tyrol on the other. Although geographically speaking it would be difficult to draw a morphological boundary between the two zones the ethnic and linguistic differences on the one hand and pedoclimatic on the other have also led over the centuries to a characterization on a provincial basis of wine production.
